Well, he hasn't chosen Rick Warren to formulate his intelligence policy, thank god.
Highlighting Warren at the inauguration was probably a bonehead move, but in the end it has no bearing on anything except our feelings. It's not policy. And it certainly wouldn't have helped Obama get his foot in the religious community's door if he'd picked a gay minister. I don't know, maybe he sees Warren as swayable (his church has already removed some anti-gay stuff from its website). Or maybe not, maybe it really was just a tone-deaf move.
