Where The Wild Things Are

I don't have any particular sentimental attachment to the book. Still, the movie (what little I've seen so far, including this poster) looks to be visually awesome. And count me interested in anything that brings Spike Jonze and Dave Eggers together.

This is the first I'm hearing of this. I love the poster and I love the tagline.

But I do have some emotional attachment to the book and I am sure the movie is going to flesh out the story, which makes me sad. I like how simple it is. I don't want to see Max's parents. I don't want more dialogue than what's in the book.

One of my favorite kids movies is The Snowman because there is no speaking at all.

Yeah, I'm sure the story will be fleshed out. Apparently Eggers has a companion novel coming out around the time of the movie release. I don't know how much the novel actually has to do with the original WTWTA, but the author (Sendak?) was involved in it somehow.

Just based on the pictures, the tone of the movie looks fantastic. A little creepy and hyper-realistic. I'm excited that they're using puppets instead of straight-up CGI. I miss puppets.
