Is it just me or are movies becoming harder to follow? Lately the new releases I've seen have left me baffled. Sometimes it's the bizarre plot structure -- the A to Z to Q to B arrangement of The Prestige and Flags of Our Fathers, for example. Or else I just have no frickin idea what's going on (like with Children of Men, about which I realized too late that nothing, in fact, was going on at all).
It makes me think of how my grandmother used to watch cartoons with my brother and me. She would exclaim several times during every episode of Ninja Turtles, "I can't make heads or tails of what they're saying!"
Anyway, all of this makes me even more sure that there's no reason to watch any movie that doesn't star Jack Lemmon. I'm clearly not getting these new-fangled pictures.

How many Jack Lemmon movies do you have left?
At your recommendation, I watched Some Like It Hot and now I'm on a Marilyn kick. I think I'm going to run out of movies before you, though.
I've only seen Jack Lemmon in Some Like It Hot, the Odd Couple and Tuesdays With Morrie. He was stunning in all of them.
We should talk about his movies next time at Bertucci's.
Marilyn is enchanting too. I want to see more of her stuff.
I still have a bunch of Lemmon movies left. Lucky for me he made a ton. I don't know why I like him so much, but he's like a security blanket for me. Most of my Providence adventure has been very angsty, but amidst the turmoil, I've discovered the calming black-and-white smile of Jack.
Some like it hot=<3
Children of men handled the "future" well by not going overboard on basic stuff like cars and computers and such. It was all subtle. But the ending sucked and I didnt understand how the main charachter would go from not seeing his "wife" in 20 years to blowing pingpong balls back and forth......
